Economic and Marketing Predictions for 1960

The economy should reach new peaks in 1960, but with less of an improvement than in 1959. Total disposable personal income should reach the record total of $354 billion. Prices will increase only slightly. Personal consumption expenditures will also reach new heights, with spending on durable goods leading the way. Demand for credit will be heavy. Some shrinkage of the housing market is expected. A recession seems unlikely before the latter part of 1960 at the earliest.
